Soul Bar & Bistro
When a late night Maccas run isn't going to cut it, crank it up a notch at the fine dining Soul Bar. Situated on the Viaduct, there's great views, great food (mac and cheese, crispy skin pork belly, and a whole raw bar anyone?) ,and great vibes happening til late 7 nights week!
It's never not a good time for a takeaway Indian. Rajwadi on Dominion Road is open til 2am Tuesday - Sunday to fulfil your chicken tikka masala and cheese naan cravings. Samosas, shahi paneer, vindaloo, lamb saagwala, rogan josh, Rajwadi has every classic curry with a naan to match.
Gogo Music Cafe
Cheap, cheerful, and open late–Gogo Music Cafe on Dominion Road is the be-all-end-all of late night spots. The place is huge but somehow always packed with diners, a good indication of how great Gogo is. $1 chicken, lamb, and beef BBQ skewers, milk tea, $12 dumplings, and dan-dan noodles have never tasted better than at 1am on a Wednesday.
Fed Deli–The classic American diner on Federal Street has a special late shift menu for all the night owls in Auckland. From 11pm-1am Friday and Saturday enjoy buffalo wings, NY hotdogs and subs, Fed's Famous Poutine, and a selection of cakes and pies, with a side of live music and wine and beer on tap.
Another Chancery Square gem, Twelve is open til 3am every day of the week. A great place to enjoy some drinks, chat, and late night Korean food. Grab a soju and some sharing plates extending from Korean fried chicken and beef tartare to salmon sashimi and gorgonzola pizza with honey, and see where the night takes you.
With two handy locations in the CBD (Vulcan Lane and Britomart) that are open til 4am, Better Burger is ideal for an after-drinks bite or an indulgent midnight snack. A short and sweet menu of hamburgers, mushroom burgers, or chicken burgers with fries makes it easy for sleepy minds.
Another late-nighter on Auckland's street that never sleeps. New Flavour on Dominion Road is a popular choice for diners at any time of the day, which makes it even sweeter that they're open til 3am five days a week (Monday and Tuesday excluded). From dumplings to sizzling plates, New Flavour has a wide range of Chinese food, sure to delight!
Little Turkish Cafe
The best night-outs always end at Little Turkish Cafe. K Road's trusty late night bite operates til 3:30 (and even later on weekends!). Forget a greasy takeaway kebab, Little Turkish Cafe serve up hearty authentic Turkish food from mussaka and lamb cutlets to chicken satay and falafel in a vibrant and buzzing environment.
Ramen at midnight gets a big tick from us. Ichiban on Albert Street is one of the only late night Japanese restaurants around. Closing up shop at 1am every night, the central city venue has all the dishes you'd expect, from gyoza and ramen to noodles and katsu curry.
Auckland's little slice of Russia will be your new go-to late night nibble and drinks destination. Vodka Room is decked out in everything-Russian, from bear rugs to traditional firearms with comfy booths to relax and socialise. On the menu you'll find delicacies such as caviar, chicken liver and truffle pate, Russian king crab and salmon rolls, and kefir and honey panna cotta.
There's a few places you can get a late night pizza, but there's only one place you can get a proper pizza. Proper Pizza on O'Connell Street have piping hot European pizzas til late, seven days a week. Available in a range of sizes from snack to shouting the crew, and flavours like black truffle, garlic chicken, and cheeseburger pizza.
