The race that stops two nations – after a rocky majority of 2020, we've received the good news that Melbourne Cup Day 2020 will commence! Set for Tuesday 3rd November, the celebrations will no doubt be some of the biggest and best yet as Melbourne finally comes out of lockdown.
Over on our side of the Tasman Sea, we're ready to celebrate large with plenty of establishments around Auckland preparing festivities for the day. The collaboration we've been waiting for... Harbourside Ocean Bar Grill and Botswana Butchery have teamed up for the Melbourne Cup Day Long Lunch, kicking off at midday at the iconic Auckland Ferry Building. You'll be treated to a four-course banquet and Champagne Mumm Grand Cordon on arrival while catching all the action live with onsite TAB terminals. The day will be hosted by MC Mike Peru, helping to award the best dressed man & woman of the day. Once the races conclude, head upstairs to Harbourside to continue the party with DJ Dan Sing. Make a day of it and head to Waiheke Island for Melbourne Cup Day. Onetangi Beach residents, Ki Maha, will be hosting the festivities on the island with a four course meal and magnum of Laurent-Perrier for every table. Arrive in your finest race threads to be in the draw for best dressed on the day.
