As part of Auckland's annual Beer Week, a round-up of activities have been announced to revel in, including one of our all-time favourites – The Great Beer Mile Day Out.

Beer Week Auckland kicks off on August 1st, running until August 9th, with a range of activities, events, and special offers across the city to celebrate the local craft beer community.

Spoiling us, the Beer Mile will take place both Sundays either end of Beer Week. Usually, a Beer Mile is carried out by running, but the team at Auckland Beer Week have made things a whole lot easier with free Tuk Tuk trips between venues, making for a significantly easier marathon.

There are eight bars and breweries taking part, all of which are considered to be some of Auckland's top beer venues, showcasing a variety of best in class brews and bites. The list (although not in order as it will be on the day) starts with Eden Terrace's The Fridge & Flagon by Beer Jerk with a rotating tap menu of rare, interesting, and hard to find beers from around New Zealand and across the world.

Next up, Galbraith's and Brother's Juke Joint BBQ, both great places to get some food into you on the mile. Brother's serves up their very own brews from Brothers Beer, complemented by their all-American BBQ comfort food, while Galbraith's prides themselves on traditional ales, European-inspired lagers, and great pub meals.

Following those, Garage Project Kingsland and Churly's are thrown into the mix. Garage Project is known nationwide for their very own colourful brews and epic cellar door, while Churly's is a new kid on the block, pouring bold flavours from Behemoth Brewing.

Rounding it off are three classics – Flight 605, Urbanaut, and Beer Spot Morningside. Flight 605 is all about beers, wings, and banter, with a range of local craft beers available in the electric little space. Urbanaut Brewing Co. creates unique, tasty beers and ciders, with flavours such as salted caramel and pear and Champagne pilsners, and Beer Spot is brand spanking new, only opening last month, and stocking 40 beers on tap already.

Kicking off at 12pm on Sunday 2nd August and Sunday 9th August, the mile begins at The Fridge & Flagon in Eden Terrace with free admission – all you need to bring is yourself! For all the details, check out the events page here.
