Round up your nearest and dearest, there's a new festival you won't want to miss. Heading into the summer months, there's literally (yes, we mean literally) nothing better than an icy-cold fruity drink on the Auckland waterfront.

Coops Corner Bar sits pretty right on the Viaduct, with expanding views of the water and continuous good vibes radiating through the joint – in fact, it's the perfect place to spend day-drinking in the sun, which is why we're ecstatic to hear they're throwing a little Frozen Margarita party next Saturday and everyone's invited.

Margi Gras, Auckland's very own Frozen Margarita Festival, is set to kick off on Saturday 28th November, bringing a fiesta of tasty drinks, vibey music, and good times to the city centre. The festival opens at midday, with plenty to eat, see, do and drink.

Coops will be hosting the very first Margi Gras on the Viaduct.

Instantly be drawn to Coops' famous (and epic) frozen margarita stalls, churning out the slushy goodness in a range of colours and flavours – we suggest tasting them all to find your favourite, naturally.

They'll also have a candy buffet of favourite toppings so you can decorate your marg in any way you see fit – the more the merrier. If you're a real ice cream fanatic, hold on to your hats, as there'll be a tequila ice cream bar serving up liqueured ice cream. And, to keep you sustained, they'll be serving up hot pizza by the slice to keep you going all day long.

Tequila-experts, El Jimador, are in charge of providing only the best for the festival, with a flight of eight frozen margaritas to taste-test on entry.

Jump into a mix of frozen margs and top it off with a candy buffet.

No festival is complete without a DJ, and Margi Gras is no different. On the decks will be local legends Brotherhood Musiq and Lewis McCallum to provide only the best beats as the soundtrack to an awesome day out.

Keep your fingers crossed all week for another stunning day in Auckland and get your tickets for Margi Gras before they sell out. This is the best way to head into summer with a whole lot of pals.

Tickets are $15 each (+booking fee), and include the tasting flight of 8 frozen margs to get you started! Grab yours here and count down the days until you're sipping slushies in the sun.
