If there’s two things Aucklanders love, it’s a good night market and a great serving of noodles. Combine them and you’ve got your next calendar date, just in time to kickstart summer.
Coming November 29th, and staying until 8th December, is the Night Noodle Markets at Victoria Park in Central Auckland. The festival will be full of live music, entertainment, and dishes upon dishes of every type of noodle. Every year the markets attract thousands of hungry visitors with treats like flakey hawker rolls, stuffed dumplings, ramen, bao buns, yakitori, seasonal and sweet desserts, and of course, noodles. This year is set to be no different with cult-favourites House of Dumplings, Mango Madness, and Mr Circle, as well as friends from across the ditch Gelato Messina, Poklol, Shallot Thai, Hoy Pinoy, and special guest Little Kyoto travelling all the way from Japan. Whether you’re a fried chicken kind-of guy, or a sucker for an authentic hot curry, there’s a stall for everyone!
Jazzing up the warm Summer nights will be lion dancers, stilt walkers, live music, costumed performers, and resident George FM DJ’s taking to the decks. As well as generous free entry, you’ll be glad to know the markets are environmentally-friendly. The Night Noodle Market is doing their part to keep waste low and our grass greener, with sustainable and compostable packaging at every single stall. So, mark the date, round up the crew, and get your chopsticks at the ready!
