Bedford Soda's New Plant-Based Additions

By Grace Noles

With the exciting transition from Level 3 to Level 2, we've had to smartly organise all the places we need to visit to get our dining fix in order. One of these places needs no introduction – Ponsonby Central's Bedford Soda & Liquor.

Well-known for years by their circular blue cocktails and dainty garnishes, Bedford is all that and so much more. The American bar creates the comfort food of all comfort food – meatballs, deep-fried Oreos, onion rings, fried chicken, mac n cheese, and now, plant-based meatballs.

Dedicating a good chunk of their menu to their infamous 'balls', Bedford takes their meatballs very seriously. Between beef, chicken, pork, lamb, and a vegetarian option, not one, but two plant-based additions sit very well with us.

To celebrate their re-opening under Level 2 guidelines, Bedford has created two new flavours – suitable for anyone vegan or just food-curious. Unlike some vegan options, they'll have you coming back for more.

Introducing the potato and capsicum ball and the chickpea and zucchini ball, both packed full of flavour and offering an alternative to Bedford's original meatballs.

To get your hands on their latest menu additions (including a brand new salad and chilli-braised prawns) book your table at Bedford Soda & Liquor today.
