Joining the flurry of restaurants adapting for take-out meals in Alert Level 3, Cocoro is bringing their fine-dining Japanese cuisine to the takeaway table.
Known far and wide in Auckland, Cocoro is a front-runner for both fine dining and authentic Japanese. The quaint venue off of Ponsonby Road sits 40 people maximum, allowing for a more intimate dining experience and time to appreciate the intricate dishes plated in front of you. However, in Level 3 Cocoro wants you to be able to enjoy their menu in the comfort of your own space.
Launching their takeaway menu just in time for commencement of level 3 today, Cocoro has blended a few of their favourite menu features to create a pre-order grand menu or a quicker ready-to-go menu.
The "Reservation Menu" consists of three items – all designed to recreate the Cocoro experience at home, allowing for ample time spent by the chefs at Cocoro to tailor your meal to perfection.
Choose from their Signature Sashimi Platter for 2 or A5 Wagyu Sukiyaki DIY Kit for 2 for $350, with the option to add-on their Temaki Sushi Rolling Kit.

Cocoro's "Walkin Menu" offers more of an a la carte option, with plenty of simple authentic favourites – made fresh to order. Opt for Cocoro’s Omakase Bento including miso soup, salad, dessert, and a daily rotation of classics such as sashimi, teriyaki chicken, pumpkin croquette, and Japanese pickles to try it all.
Otherwise, take your pick from dishes such as sashimi market fish, rolled sushi in several varieties, karaage chicken donburi, King Ora salmon donburi, or a Shiki-tofu donburi.
