It's no secret we have a few favourite gems around the city for a spot of tea and scones, and we're always ecstatic to hear one of our favourites is mixing things up with a new seasonal menu.
Cordis, however, has taken it up a notch this summer with their brand new partnership with a luxury tea brand, complete with a complementing menu from Chef Volker and his wondrous team, as well as a new dining room concept, previously known as the Lobby Lounge.
The newly rebranded Chandelier Lounge gets its name from the iconic glistening Cordis chandeliers, acting as the centrepiece for the luxurious dining space. Each table allows for an intimate, yet relaxed experience enjoyed over a 3-tier golden stand filled with decadent pastries, gourmet finger sandwiches, palate cleansers, classic scones, and an array of sweet desserts. The soft music and warm lighting add an ambience only experienced in the finest dining settings.
The new partnership with Singapore's luxury tea brand, TWG, introduces a deluxe range of teas to choose from during your sitting. Including delicate flavours such as their Silver Moon Green Tea (a personal favourite of ours), as well as more bold and comforting flavours like the Creme Caramel Tea.
With the largest collection of tea in the world, Cordis has managed to select the perfect range of 20 TWG blends, with knowledgable staff on-hand to help you pick your perfect cup during your session. The hand-crafted quality behind the teas makes for the perfect brew in the Chandelier Lounge every time.
Naturally, with a new range of tea comes a new menu. Cordis' Executive Chef, Volker Marecek, has designed a menu showcasing local and seasonal produce, transformed into bite-sized treats. Expect to be presented with delights such as their crème caramel tea cured salmon with freeze-dried blueberries, chocolate and caramel mille-feuilles, and warm buttermilk scones with clotted cream and artisan jam.
Although small, each component packs a punch of flavour, leaving just enough room for the next pastry or sandwich on your stand, but we're warning you: a light lunch is more than enough before arriving.
Cordis strives to make sure the High Tea is as inclusive as possible, with accessible (and delicious) options for vegan & vegetarian diets, gluten-free, Halal, and even a child-friendly option for mini Cordis VIPs.
