Get Your Hands On One Of These Buttered Lobster Rolls In Lockdown

While we've been busy recreating our favourite restaurant dishes during the nationwide lockdown, there are some dishes that we'll never recreate to a T. One of these impossible dishes simply has to be a Hot Buttered Lobster Roll, one from Lobster & Tap in particular.

Lucky for us, they've heard our disdain in attempts to recreate the perfect ratio of roll to lobster to herbs and spices, and re-opened to bring us their famous rolls in Alert Level 3.

The inner-city restaurant, located inside the newly renovated Auckland Fish Market, uses the freshest chopped lobster meat and a blend of herbs and spices on a toasted bun, with your choice of clarified butter and lemon and chives or New England mayonnaise to really transform the roll.

Lobster & Tap's takeaway menu includes combo boxes, which come with a buttered or classic roll, chips or crisps, coleslaw, and a side of pickles to cut through the richness and add a bite of acidity. They also have a range of sides including Lobster Kiwi Dip and crisps, chips and aoili, coleslaw, and chilled lobster salad.

Sadly, while their Oyster Po Boys haven't made the takeaway menu this time, their lobster rolls are enough to tide us over until we enter Alert Level 1 & 2.

Available for delivery, they've also implemented a seamless contactless pick-up system which includes parking in the designated valet spot, safely telling the valet your name and order from a distance, and having the Lobster & Tap staff placing your order in the boot of your car.

Open for takeaways 11am to 9pm daily, you can pre-order for a certain day or order for pick-up in a matter of minutes. To place yours and for all the details, click here!
