The chill has well and truly arrived in Auckland. With freezing conditions comes innovation from our favourite local spots to keep us coming back year-round. The latest hot trend taking over the hospitality scene is insulated seating, creating warm cocoons for diners to remain toasty and comfortable while still enjoying a meal out.
Dr Rudi's – Auckland's signature Viaduct rooftop bar – has implemented the newest cosy set-up. Transforming their bowling alley down the back into a winter wonderland, Dr Rudi's has set up a village of igloos to keep you cosy and private on your next night out.
The pop-up event, running from now until September 20th, offers you a 2-hour package in their decorative igloos. Completing your own private nook are Rudi's bottomless bubbles or mimosas as well as some tasty bites throughout the session.
You'll be treated to cold cuts of prosciutto, venison pepperoni, smoked turkey, calabrese salami, McClure’s pickles, house marinated olives, smoked tomato chutney, creamy brie cheese, crackers and toasted house made ciabatta with garlic butter on arrival.
To end, your choice of Hershey’s chocolate, salted caramel, or mixed berry sauce, whipped cream and toasted peanuts on creamy vanilla bean ice cream. All for $59 per person.
Rudi's has pulled out all the stops with their new collection of winter warmer cocktails too, keeping your session interesting with each new drink.
Dr Rudi's bottomless igloo sessions are available Mondays through to Sundays at 12pm, 3:30pm, 5pm, and 7:30pm. Bookings are essential, and you'll want to get in fast before they're sold out!
