It's the busiest time of the year, often meaning we can get so caught up in our hectic schedules that we forget there are people less fortunate than ourselves out there. After the unprecedented year, things are particularly tough for many Kiwis up and down the country. If you've been meaning to get amongst some charity work or do some good for the holidays, you may want to keep reading!
During any of your Christmas baking escapades over the next couple of days:
- Snap a photo of your finished product using any Chelsea and Edmonds products (don't forget to get them in the shot too)
- Pop it onto social media with the hashtag #BakingADifference, tag in @EdmondCooking and @ChelseaSugarNZ
-Chelsea & Edmond will donate a combined $10 to The Salvation Army.
That's $10 for every baking post with the hashtag used, up to their goal of $20,000. The promotion ends December 20th, giving you a few days to get your pictures up.
So far Chelsea and Edmonds have donated $2,500 with the help of New Zealand home bakers. Tessa Reardon from The Salvation Army says this money and the efforts put in from New Zealanders means a great deal.
"We know that there are some families that are really struggling going into the holiday season, so brands like Chelsea and Edmonds bringing attention to our cause with their significant platforms is really meaningful. I hope many more Kiwi bakers will get onboard with #BakingADifference so we can hit our target,” says Tessa.
Be able to help out and donate without having to open your wallet, and with cookies and slices left over to share with your own families and loved ones this Christmas. There's no need to create anything fancy, a plain tray of biscuits is more than enough – although if you're stuck for ideas, check out some of our favourite recipes here.
To make it even sweeter, we're giving you the chance to win one of two Limited Edition Chelsea Sugar Tins prize pack with 1x Icing Sugar, 1x Brown Sugar, and 1x Caster Sugar. All you need to do is tag @DishCult into your #BakingADifference posts, and you'll be in to win!
(Competition ends December 20th 2020. Winners must be able to pick up their prize from Auckland Central.)
Meri Kirihimete Aotearoa, we can't wait to see your creations!
