With Winter upon us and the cold creeping in, there’s one thing that can tempt us to leave the comfort of our homes. Fried chicken. Served in every way we could imagine.
The Chamberlain understood the assignment and have released an outstanding new menu dedicated to our shared love of fried chicken. The ‘Tasty as Cluck’ menu and warm welcoming atmosphere of The Chamberlain is all the motivation we need to brave the weather.
The Chamberlain is nestled on a quiet street in the heart of the city. The local’s pub offers city dwellers a comfortable spot to kick back and take a load off. With an airy and spacious interior, wooden accents and exposed brick this is the perfect place to spend your winter.
It comes as no surprise that The Chamberlain is the go-to bar for after work drinks, weekend catch-ups and watching the rugby on the big screen. They created a name for themselves with their ever-changing tap beers. With 15 beers on tap you can try something new on every visit.
The ‘tasty as cluck’ menu is separated into multiple sections; like Chamberlain fried chicken, Choose the heat and Chamberlain sides. There are also options for salads, sammies and a cheeky banoffee pie to round out your meal.
The Chamberlain fried chicken section is pretty straight forward, choose the pieces of the chicken you love the most. The White pieces being breast and wings, Brown being thigh and drum. Then there’s options for tender fillets and wings, which comes with three pieces. Every option is crumbed and fried to perfection, served with a slice of bread and pickles.
Throughout our perusing of the menu, we couldn’t stop our eyes from being drawn towards the choose the heat section. Delicious, spicy and beautifully crumbed fried chicken. We’re all aware of the three stages of heat when it comes to spice; the classic levels of mild, medium and hot. But the fourth and final option captured our attention. Inferno.
This comes with a warning to all those that dare. You will sweat. You will breathe fire. But who doesn’t love a challenge? Especially when it tastes that good.
If you’re after a lighter, healthier dish then the grilled chicken bang bang salad is a great alternative. The finely sliced grilled chicken is tossed in a mix of shredded carrot, cucumber and bean sprouts. With a hearty drizzle of sambal dressing on top to add a slightly spiced bite to the dish.
The Chamberlain also has a Cubano Sando available; and trust us, this sandwich is incredible. Using pulled spicy chicken, American cheese and salami. The simple yet strong flavours work in harmony to create a masterpiece.
There are a few dishes on the ‘tasty as cluck’ menu that aren’t fried chicken focused but still hit the spot. The Chamberlain sides make for the perfect companion if you’re in the mood to mix and match or in need of a quick snack. The chipotle mac and cheese is gooey, creamy and oh-so-cheesy. This is one of our favourite comfort foods.
The Chamberlain is open Tuesday-Saturday 4pm-late but they have made a new exception. In order for everyone to satisfy their fried chicken cravings they’re opening the doors at midday on Fridays! Book ahead to guarantee a table. The ‘tasty as cluck’ menu is not to be missed.
