Sunfed Branches Out To Plant-Based Mince

Sunfed launches their Bull Free Beef.

Known for their popularity amongst plant-based eaters and omnivores, Sunfed has gained themselves a reputation for amazing plant-based alternatives to regular meat, with their most hyped product being their Sunfed Chicken Free Chicken. Adding to their impressive lineup of alternatives, Sunfed has announced this week that they'll be taking a shot at mince this time, with their brand new Bull Free Beef, calling it "juicy, meaty, and as nutrient dense as traditional mince". The plant-based product is made up of yellow pea protein, beetroot, and Rainforest Alliance certified cocoa butter, taking aim to create something so similar even meat-lovers will opt for it.

The new Bull Free Beef is available at supermarkets across the nation from today.

All The Best Food Trucks Take Over MOTAT This Weekend

Get your food truck fix at MOTAT this weekend.

We're suckers for a good food truck night, and one of the biggest events of the year is coming up this weekend. The Food Truck Round Up (hosted by our friends at the Food Truck Collective) will be taking over the Museum Of Transport And Technology this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, showcasing our favourite food trucks from across the country. For three nights there'll be a rotation of the tastiest food trucks, including (but not limited to) Olas, Let's Brezel, Lalele Organic Gelato, Amaranto, Carmel Israeli Street Food, Double Dutch Fries, and The Dog Father. MOTAT will also be hosting a number of live entertainers including fire performers, Mema Wilda, and Musas Samba Passion.

Entry is free from 5:30pm this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The Fried Chicken Festival Returns

Auckland's favourite annual food festival arrives this August.

Aucklanders love themselves a food festival, and perhaps one of our very best festivals is making a comeback for 2021. The annual Fried Chicken Festival at Shed 10 returns on August 21st with tickets on sale this Sunday. Enjoy a day taste-testing all types of fried chicken from across the globe, made by dozens of local producers here in New Zealand. Previous years have featured the likes of Peach's Hot Chicken, The Coop, Lowbrow, and Judge Bao, so expect big things.

Tickets are on sale this weekend for $15+booking fee.

Andiamo Brings Back Two Favourite Dishes For Winter

Andiamo's Chicken Parm has returned.

We're always excited by a new menu and Herne Bay's Andiamo has just come out with a show-stopper. Their Winter menu brings two fan-favourites back to the eatery, both guaranteed to have the masses booking a table for a cosy aperitivo hour. The Chicken Parmigiana makes a return, with late harvest tomatoes, mozzarella, basil for the must-have cheese-pull. The Chilli Fried Calamari also makes a comeback with ‘bagna cauda’, chilli oil, lemon for a fresh seafood hit amongst their gorgeous pastas and meat-heavy dishes.

Give Back With Naked Locals

20 cents from specially marked packs of Naked Locals will go straight to Kiwi charities.

New Zealand's beloved chilled soup brand, Naked Locals, is giving back this season, supporting three locals charities – Everybody Eats, Satisfy Food Rescue, and Gizzy Kai Rescue. Their three new flavours will donate 20c per soup purchased, donating up to $20,000 per charity for a grand total of $60k going to local Kiwis in need. Look out for their Lentil, Potato and Caramelised Onion Soup, Farmer’s Market Vege and Quinoa Soup, and Kumara and Coconut Soup in supermarkets nationwide.
