An Award-Winning Local Cheese Hits The Shelves
If you've been anywhere near TikTok or Instagram over the past week, you'll know all about the viral Feta and Tomato Pasta sending home-cooks into a frenzy. Coincidentally, we've also been lucky enough to have a brand new locally-made feta hit our shelves this past week – we're taking this as a sign to make some locally-sourced TikTok pasta.
Clevedon Buffalo Co has heard locals' praises and pleas to integrate their award-winning feta cheese in to retail, and they've done exactly that. Enhanced with just enough salt to give it a mild tanginess, the Clevedon Buffalo Co Feta won back-to-back awards in its category last year, taking away the 2019 and 2020 Gold and Category winner trophies in the annual Cheese Awards. The prize-winner is now available at Farro Fresh stores around Auckland, as well as a number of smaller artisanal retailers throughout the country.

Wendy's New Oktoberfest-Inspired Burger
Just in time to kick off Autumn, Wendy's has introduced their latest masterpiece, an Oktoberfest-inspired Pretzel Pub Burger. Marrying beer, cheese, and pretzels, Wendy's has brought in help from bread-makers, Pandoro, to create a unique soft, chewy authentic German pretzel bun, made for Wendy's Pretzel Pub range. From there, you get the choice of a ¼ pound or ½ pound of fresh NZ prime beef or breaded chicken breast fillet, and on top goes honey mustard sauce, crunchy pickles, smoked cheese, fried onion rings, Manuka smoked bacon, and the secret ingredient – a savoury beer cheese sauce made using a locally sourced zero percent beer, adding a real umami kick.
Add on a side of loaded Pretzel Pub fries and you've got a delicious Oktoberfest feast. Wendy's Pretzel Pub range is available now for a limited time nationwide.
