The Espresso Martini has stolen hearts over the past 12 months, and for good reason – They’re bloody delicious. A caffeine hit with a boozy feature all wrapped up in a tasty coffee flavour, there’s not much to criticise when you get down to it. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t improve a classic.
The Corner Bar in Howick has twisted the usual espresso, Kahlúa, vodka, and liqueur recipe, and instead concocted the Black Forest Espresso Martini. The tapas bar and restaurant use Lewis Road Creamery’s Chocolate Cream Liqueur and Chambord’s Raspberry Liqueur to create the berry chocolate taste in the classic martini. Topped off with a freeze-dried raspberry and healthy layer of espresso foam, the Black Forest Espresso Martini not only tastes amazing but looks fantastic too. Created as part of their Christmas Cocktail range, they’ll be sticking around until the end of December. However, the friendly staff at The Corner have let us know that the staff will be happy to whip one up for you anytime by request!
